Tebelopele is a non-profit health and wellness organization dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of communities across Botswana for over 20 years. Tebelopele facilities are situated in 18 locations serving residents in rural, urban and town areas. In August 2018, Tebelopele, Botswana’s first and largest non-profit HIV Testing and Counselling service provider, expanded its service offerings from voluntary counselling and testing to integrated HIV-SRH services which includes: HIV and STI screening and treatment, TB screening, TB Preventative Therapy, family planning, Pre Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) in 5 of its 18 locations (Gaborone, Maun, Kweneng East, Palapye and Francistown) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Wellness, PEPFAR/USAID/FHI 360 and ACHAP Global Fund.
Tebelopele is currently seeking qualified candidate for the FHI 360 Accelerating Progress in
Communities (APC) Project, which contributes to the Government of Botswana’s objectives of achieving epidemic control.
Tebelopele in collaboration with the FHI 360 Accelerating Progress in Communities (APC) Project will offer SRH-HIV and GBV integrated services to clients visiting its Gaborone and Molepolole Centres and during outreaches expand HIV care, treatment and support services for the Adolescents Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in some of the priority PEPFAR districts of Gaborone, Francistown and Kweneng East. The overall goal(s) of the APC project is to make comprehensive HIV services easily available to the targeted group and to ensure the sustainability of those services. While also strengthening systems for planning, monitoring, evaluating and assuring quality of programs for the targeted group. The following Programs/clinical position to be filled immediately:

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN – Gaborone x1
Reporting directly to the Medical Officer, the Pharmacy Technician has the overall pharmacological responsibilities of stocking, assembling, and distributing medications. He/she maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs. The Pharm Tech maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Organizes medications and dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions, preparing labels, calculating quantities, and assembling intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies. Maintains records by recording and filing Health care providers orders and prescriptions.
Lastly, prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
2. OVERALL PURPOSE
- The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of clinic
- Distribute medications and other clinical supplies to other Tebelopele
- Manage and update stock cards when receiving medication/commodities and report to finance on stock levels
- Manage supplies to avoid expiry of drugs and also discard expired items according to MOHW guidelines
- Keep up to date with BOMRA standards and updates
- Will work with the health care providers in dispensing medication to
- Ensure adherence to infection-control policies and
- The Pharm Tech will be well versed in the STI, ART and HTC guidelines, and will work with the Medical Officer and Programs Manager to ensure that targets and timelines are
2.1 EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
- Diploma in Pharmacy Technology
- Registration with Botswana Health Professions Council
- Kitso Training
2.2 SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience in a hospital or clinic working in the field of sexual health, sexuality and reproductive health
- Knowledge and understanding of the key issues relating to HIV prevention and Sexual Reproductive Health (PMTCT, Family planning, sexuality, )
- Knowledge surrounding HIV/AIDS in Botswana and
- Must have a driving license(Class B)
