Honorable Major General Pius Mokgware
Major General (retired) Pius Mokgware has a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies, US War College, 2002, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA acc.) Diploma in Advance Finance Management, IDM, 1987, Diploma in Resource Management, Naval Post Graduate College, 1987, Certificate in Finance Management, IDM, 1983. Major General Mokgware joined Tebelopele Board on 15th November, 2012.
Major General Mokgware is a former Member of Parliament for Gabane-Mmankgodi. From 2010 to 2014 he was working for the University of Botswana as a Lecturer teaching Media and Politics; Security Studies, Civil Military Relations, Security, Conflict and War, International Organisations; and Strategic Leadership.
He has vast experience in Strategic Management field and prior to joining University of Botswana he worked for Botswana Defence Force as Commander of the Ground Forces. In the Botswana Defence Force he held various positions from Staff Finance Officer, Chief Internal Auditor, Assistant Chief of Staff, Finance (Finance Manager of the Defence Force), Commander, 2 Infantry Brigade (entire Northern Region of Botswana) , as the Ground Forces Commander he was responsible for the Command: planning, Management and administration of the Ground Forces Formations, ensuring combat readiness, in charge of planning and implementation of training strategies and programmes, in charge of performance improvements in the entire defence force, train members of the defence force on leadership, in charge of the E-governance programs-computerization of Botswana Defence Force, promoting and educating the public on conservation and environmental issues.
Major General Mokgware is a professional member of Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), a member of Toast Master International and member of United States of America War College Alumni Associations. Major General Mokgware has been awarded a distinguished Code of Order and a Distinguished Service Medal awards.
