Tebelopele Voluntary Counseling & Testing Centre

Dr. Gaone Makwinja has a career spanning over 7 years in the healthcare precinct, starting as a Medical Officer in MOHW Hospitals and clinics. She worked for Tebelopele Wellness Clinics, Gaborone and Molepolole Wellness Clinics as a Medical Officer under the Advancing Partners and Communities (APC 1.0) Project supported by FHI 360 funded by USAID in May 2018. She went on to join BOMAID as of December 2022 and she is licensed as a private Medical Practitioner. Dr. Gaone Makwinja is a motivated achiever with highly visible management accountabilities and effective resource management.

She also has 15 months experience as a Technical Director for the Kgatelopele Mo Botsogong Project, directly funded by PEPFAR through USAID, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Director/ Chief of Party (Kgatelopele Mo Botsogong Project) in Tebelopele Wellness Center.

Dr Makwinja has been a member of several National Technical Groups encompassing Dreams TWG, HIV Care Treatment TWG, PrEp TWG, Community Facility Interface TWG, SRH/HIV Integration TWG and Recency Surveillance TWG, Case Based Surveillance TWG and BBSS111 Technical Working Group.

She graduated with a Master’s Degree from St George’s School of Medicine/Grenada and a Bachelor of Science from St George’s School of Arts and Sciences/Grenada in 2014 and 2012 respectively.
